MESSAGES TO STUDENTS

Parvati Nair
“ I am an alumnus and former peer mentor for GHHM SA, and the knowledge I gained from this course was invaluable during my field missions with MSF; my coursemates and I are part of a wider professional network, and we still reach out to each other when we face hurdles in our respective fields. ”

Helen O Neill
“ The GHHM course is an amazing opportunity for MDs working in Lower and Middle Income countries or those who wish to do so to hone their diagnostic skills and provide appropriate treatment to those populations adversely affected by infectious diseases and humanitarian crises. The enthusiasm of the alumni speaks volumes as they donate their precious time voluntarily to help shepherd yet another group of students through this rich and varied course delivered by subject matter experts who can give real examples based on their vast experience. ”

James Stickley
“MSF is the world’s leading humanitarian medical organization and recipient of the 1999 Nobel Peace Prize. Where better to learn about global health and humanitarian medicine?”

Jess Richards
“The GHHM Course is a wonderful opportunity to connect with doctors based all around the world who share the same commitment and interests as you.”

Chiara Morrison
“Dear prospective students, as a previous GHHM student myself and now GHHM staff team member, I just want to say welcome! I hope you find your journey with us as inspiring as I did and make the connections in Global Health that will shape your future career. Take all of the opportunities offered and get involved! I look forward to meeting you in the coming course year.”

Ian Cropley
“I’m delighted you are enrolled on this course and look forward to meeting you online or maybe in person. I hope you will find it broadens and stimulates your mind and your approach to your practice of medicine as much as it does mine when I hear our lecturers talking about subjects they are clearly passionate about.”

Dr. Philipp du Cross
“I would like to extend my warmest welcome to you at the beginning of this course. As COVID-19 has reminded us all, there is a great need for improved knowledge and understanding of global health, health systems and ‘international’ pathogens. I know you will find this course both challenging and rewarding and I encourage you to share your experience and questions to help us all continue to learn how we can serve and improve the health of people and communities in the locations where MSF works.”
